Windows

A Poem by Leo Allen

The walls enclosed our bodies
But we wouldn't budge closer.
The night foreshadowed the end
As the next day chose her.

She would lose this addiction
And realize it's for the better.
Through murky, unsettled minds
I stand glad I met her.

The water tipped and tapped
Against the dotted window pane.
Her eyes ate mine, And she rained.

I love this. The end of a relationship but not bitter and spiteful, just adjusting to it... All the weather imagery really brought it together
