~ A Vagrant King ~

~ A Vagrant King ~

A Poem by Misery

In a dream I

Was a captain

I was a king

And was flapping

Wanting to bring

To you a ring

Of purest gold;

But all my gifts

Came from my soul

My soul is lead

Pulled from the earth;

It has a price

But has no worth

So in a dream

A captain poor;

A vagrant king

O' yes I was...

...So yes I am.

When I was young

I gave a damn

But, darling, now

... ... O' yes I am.
