Tap Water, Jean-Paul Sartre and the Rabbit

Tap Water, Jean-Paul Sartre and the Rabbit

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

this is trash pure ( as my grandfather was French, I hope I will be forgiven!)

"
French actresses in films always drink glasses of tap water
in the middle of the night ; their long hair hanging in despair over sinks.
They run about in Paris ( clipclopclipclap) and talk very fast about
their many lovers while sitting in cars that look like squashed slippers.
Their cheated husbands smoke smelly cigarettes, drink horrid
green drinks and bang on endlessly about Jean-Paul Sartre.
I am very ashamed that I don`t have so many problems,
not even being worried about atheistic existentialism.
I ( myself) am worried though about my pet rabbit ( called Rabbit by his friends,
if he had any) who seems at the moment not to enjoy his lettuce.
As you probably understand, there is a great difference between him
and the famous French philosopher and novelist.
Maybe it`s the tap water.

I really enjoyed this. Your descriptions were smart, funny and completely true, though I've never quite heard them expressed like that. I'm going to see if you have any stories about--I think you'd write them well. I wonder if the parentheticals are necessary, though. Seems to move better without them. Nice write.

I started reading this and then went off on one about Catherine Deneurve. Started again and got as far as Isabelle Huppert and Catherine Deneurve. But then took my medication, placed some Iron in my Soul and managed to get as far as the Rabbit and Catherine Deneurve which sent me a little strange.
Anyway Matron said I can continue reading as long as I am careful and this time I completed it with only two incidents of Catherine Deneurve. Having said all that I find it a very refreshing read and full of insight into the mind set of the domestic rabbit and Catherine Deneurve

it's a great change of pace from big ideas to small ideas in this piece... now I know a bit of insight to parisians and their fascination for jean-paul sartre.. very cool.. the descriptions of the actresses in the beginning sets up an artistic scene.. of a certain freedom, and hedonistic desires... this is not trash, it's treasure!
