Conversation With My Killer

Conversation With My Killer

A Poem by Askew
"

A shortened version of two different conversations I had with the same man, my abuser.

"
Do you love me?

With all my heart.

I could never.

Tell me why.

You're everything I ever asked for.

You're everything I hate.

Tell me you love me.

I love you.

I hate you.

You should be grateful.

I am.
Never.

Say thank you.

Thank you.

F**k you.

For what?

For killing me.

Wow. This poem was definitely unexpected and leaves much for interpretation on the meaning behind eac word and the situation of the narrators.

I like the unique duality in this poem, and it was short and sweet, a refreshing thing to see. The structure is incredibly eye-catching and the poem's content is definitely something that I didn't exactly see coming. A wonderful poem to read.

As well, this poem greatly contrasts with your other one you submitted, which really demonstrates your versatility and I can feel the gifted writer behind the screen.

Beautiful, once again!

Powerful and hard words and emotions shared. I liked the set-up Lexi. You made the reader understand the words and thoughts. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Surely there must be more to love than this. Why go on with this kind of relationship? It seems that there is little, if any, return on the love you give. I feel for you, but then again you must make the final choice.

Take care - Dave
