Something More Than Change

Something More Than Change

A Poem by Askew

What is a girl to do
When the fabric of her reality
Is fraying
And falling apart?

Does she carry on with her day,
Hoping things will stitch themselves
Back together,
Once again forming a perfect tapestry?

Does she try her best,
Roll with the punches,
Accept whatever comes her way,
And pray it becomes a new picture just as pretty?

What can be expected of her
When everything she knows is fading
And the very ground she stands upon
Is quaking beneath her feet?
