A Falling Star

A Falling Star

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid

I am one star out of countless others

And yet I hang onto this hope,

The hope that I might not be too small

For you to see me,

That I might glow a little brighter

Than my sisters,

I long for that recognition,

For the metaphorical pat on the back,

For that caring and gentle kiss,

I miss your lips,

So I wish on a falling brother,

A star that is shooting past the rest of us,

And I can only hope that you are wishing on it too,

Wishing that I could be with you,

But  I am just one star out of countless others,

And one out of countless wishes that could be made,

But as my brothers take flight

Through the unknown night sky,

They carry my wish,

My whispers,

My light,

That with all my heart,

I wish to be with you tonight.

This is so sweet and innocent. I honestly believe you have a good shot of this being bought by a greeting card company I have sold a couple of poems to.

Google: Blue Mountain Arts

Look for submission guidelines. :-)

You will be paid if they accept it. :-)

Excellent, really it is.
