Write Happy

Write Happy

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid
"

When I sit down to write a poem, I realize that I can lie to myself but not to my poetry.

"

Sad

How sad

These thoughts

These pieces,

How depressing they are,

Fragments and lines,

Stanzas and rhymes,

Pieces all just pieces,

Not love but hurt

Not laughter but hate,

How sad

All these lines,

My mind

In my mind they climb,

Higher and higher,

I don’t want to be sad,

Write happy

Happy thoughts,

Not another one

Sad

Such sad rhymes,

How sad

How sad am I,

For these stanzas

To form in my mind,

My mind,

How sad I must be,

I laugh I smile,

I don’t feel the sorrow,

But in front of me

Lies a pen and paper,

And all I can write

Write

Are these lines,

These stanzas and rhymes,

How sad they are,

How sad I must be.
