She is Bleeding

She is Bleeding

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid

Building bridges

Build those bridges,

I will swallow your words

And spit out bricks made of charcoal,

I watch from a tower,

Safe from your arrows,

But you aim at another

And write “love” on the tip.

What will she do?

When she realizes she is bleeding,

What will you do?

When she realizes you are the culprit,

You take the bricks from my feet,

The interpretations of your words

And you build a bridge,

Did you forget?

That the interpretation of charcoal…

Is to be set on fire.

And with a flick of the wrist

Reality throws a match.
