To Whom it May Concern

To Whom it May Concern

A Poem by Liderien

You have taken me to a new place,
a wonderfully blissful place.
But it scares me.
Not because it’s bad,
but because it will end the same as all the rest.
Nothing lasts I fear.
I am so broken yet so strong willed.
But, in the same duplicitous breath, I long for it.
My double mindedness knows no bounds.
I picture myself running,
my long hair flowing in the wind
as I take each leap in the green fields of no where.
The sun glistening all about me
and the summer flowers bringing life to my lifeless love.
I run from myself,
I run from the cares and worries of life.
I run from the world, its people,
its pollution from its torment of stability.
My day is everlasting and night never draws near.
My scars on my body are gone
and my legs never lose their strength to carry me
to the destination that never arrives.
My own private world
that no one can invade without invitation.
As I stand in the meadow
I feel the soft wind that blows
gently over the fields
and the slight shuffle of leaves
to send a hushed sound that echoes so lightly.
I feel the cessation all about me
as it overwhelms me. I lift my head
to allow the sun to caress my face
with his touch of grace.
The warmth blankets my soul.

Wonderful expression of the trance and emotion of beginnings. Not often is the feeling so clear and strong. Such times must be cherished and remembered..and what a wonderful work of poetry to write these amazing details down.

The final line does much to summarize such immense passion!

Wow, what can I say? Change absolutely nothing! A couple of lines really grabbed hold of me in your poem..."and my legs never lose their strength to carry me
to the destination that never arrives." what a horrifying concept. Kind of like a dream, where you attempt to run---and run---and get nowhere! Brilliant!
