Live

A Poem by RachelReaper
"

I thought of this spur of the moment and for some reason liked it :)

"

Live

I have loved

And yes, I've hated

But who wants to hear me

Say that again?

Bitterness and happiness seem to meld

And you'll never know when

Maybe we don't know for sure

Why you're here until your gone

But as long as I'm standing up

I'm putting all my trump cards down

This is what you've been given

So do the best with what you can

Only once you'll walk this Earth

Never knowing when you'll end

So live today like

You won't be alive tomorrow

Because you never know

In five minutes you might have to

Leave everyone behind and go

So the science teacher in me wonders if the assignment got done? But my inner poet is certain you had some soul writing to do. I like your verse- embrace life, appreciate it and don't waste it, for it could be over sooner than you think. Well said and well penned. (Just a small thing- why your here until your gone- change the your to "you're"

The best poem come from when you should be focusing on something else. Short and very pretty! I loved it!

Powerful poem with a good message. However the line "Only one you'll walk this Earth" confused me a little. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it given how the rest of the poem flowed. Besides that, I loved it. Living for the moment can drive people to be so much. Great representaiton

reminds me of the moment I found out I was being deployed for the first time. It's in the last two lines. Thank you for posting this.

Pretty good. I like it. It has a really great meaning and it stands out. It reminds me of the whole thing with Mitch Lucker, and the one Suicide Silence song You Only Live Once. RIP Mitch

I like the point you're trying to make and the way you're trying to make it. Despite grammatical errors (which is to be expected if you thought of this in 30 seconds, ha) I would have to say it is indeed a good poem.
