Ode to Gladiolus

The Gladiolus represents strength, growth, remembrance. A perfect symbolization of someone who is finally willing to shed the pain for their ultimate layer of a better character.

I've sat 

And thought

I've cried 

And shrieked

But 

At the end of it all

It was just my mind at a complacent stall.

Truth is bitter,

No matter the messenger

But your truth was the final receiver.

As much as a person is distant

Their love not variably constant

Another's despair, 

Is of no real scare

When all that matters

Is your own affairs.

You were right

Your intentions always ignite

A lust for that loving sprite

Aware I am however,

Knowing my dilemma,

Of wanting what is inconclusively over.

I think before I speak

Look before my feet reach their peak.

Emotions are significant

And everyone's thoughts are so rampant.

But always they are needy, wanting

Always reminiscent of your emotions dying.

But now

Now I have a do over.

A chance of being a lover.

I've made excuses before.

This time,

This time I Love Me.

Because me will help me love 

Those I want to put above.

Because I remember saying

How can you love someone else

When you have no love for you

The one in essence.

There are no tears 

Anywhere 

There is regret 

There are thoughts in a permanent sunset

But at the end,

My pain is at a suspend. 

I am at the road of growth

A moral, self-loving path.

Where I am the wanderer,

But everyone else is the goal.

And it is necessary

To prove sincerity

This trail...
