Draw The Line

Draw The Line

A Poem by Lipstick_Lesbian
"

I suppose it's all subjective.

"
My hands shake as I
Scroll through
Sexual innuendos

Photo comments laced with
Intention
Undressing you with her keyboard

"But it's not flirting if it's online."

She has mastered the art
Of making eye contact with you
Through the hollow of a martini glass

And you have mastered the art
Of grinning as you roll up your sleeves
To expose your tattooed muscled arms
As you pour her yet another drink

"But it's not flirting if it's part of my job."

Cashiers
Waitresses
Saleswomen
Strangers

You complain:
"You're threatened by everyone"

Because
"It's not flirting if it's who I am."

I once knew a waitress who flirted on me merely for a big tip, and I came out on the other end with metaphorical egg all over my face. I've never felt like a greater jackass in all my days. I don't trust waitresses who flirt . . . never do anymore. Saleswomen, neither. There ought to be a law against that!

I love how you were able to capture such a beautiful comparison between this internal dialogue and what you're character actually claims. This poem is truly polished and a lovely piece of work. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful people use their tools to make money. Nothing wrong with this. Beauty need a good smile and conversation too. Make a customer laugh and smile can increase the tip and a repeat customer. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
