![]() The Rain Is ListeningA Poem by Color of the IrisHave you ever felt that they're not listening?
That what you're saying doesn't matter at all And all you've ever hoped for is forever gone Even though it's raining outside And you're afraid of the darkened sky You can't help but to feel a smile Because you know the rain is listening The tear drops, all so frail Search the ground for a place to rest After their long fall, all so tiring They want to hear the rest Your pain is their bed time story Their night time lullaby That almost lulls them to sleep They are listening Because they care They want you to know That they are there You sit in front of the window Your breath fogging the glass Whispering your sorrow As they slowly streak the grass Their cold, liquid bodies slither down the window And I tell them I'm glad they're here They know I feel better now And the sun begins to peek from the clouds And as they leave I can hear them sing You're content again, love So we're done here © 2010 Color of the IrisAuthor's Note
