Solitary Tear

Solitary Tear

A Poem by LisetteCanWrite!
"

Falling in and out of Love!!! It's that feeling of realizing even more how much you want someone after they are no longer with you.

"

Please soar high with me;

Embrace life like you know you should.

You are my every eternity;

throughout all the bad and the good.

I hear your name almost everywhere

and you see it beckons my still soul.

Whenever we spent time together;

I felt happy to be that much more whole.

I occassionally see your strong face;

with your body so masculine in design.

My heart it does rapidly pound;

I want only YOU to be mine.

I dream about you and I;

we're on a lost island paradise.

We're embraced on the beach;

Oh yes, it's really quite nice.

But then suddenly I awake

and find you're nowhere quite near.

You've left me all alone;

with just a ...Solitary Tear.

You'll have every young lady and woman here telling you how we've all been there and how we can relate to this poem so well. I know I fall into that category. So I won't squander time telling you that, but rather comment on the poem itself.

Opening stanza presents an unconditional love; the curtain reveals the 'all the bad and the good'. It's more than just love or romance. A relationship on a deeper level, and now that person is lacking to you, and you miss them more than ever (sigh)
Second stanza portrays the unity that was once there, accompanied with the longing and nostalgia (sigh again. curse ye memories) in the third and fourth stanzas.
And then the poem ends with the earth shaking reality, the hard truth that no one wishes to willingly wake up to because we all know it will only bring tears of the greatest sorrow. (oh! me heart!)
Great writing, with some lovely images tied in smoothly.
Cheers.

Awe this is so beautiful, but sad. I love the way this write flows and brings the reader gracefully into the world of the write and each word captures them, but honestly, it's not solitary if you make me cry...beautiful write...

"I see your strong face; your body so masculine in design."

A very relatable poem, and for me, these lines especially. I'm also fond of how the second stanza flows.

well written. well thought out. i would take out the quotation marks.adds more punch. makes it more like a thought coming out of your head rather than something which needs attention. other than that, very good. keep it up

It's the classic don't know what you got till it's gone... I must say for being heartbreaking this is really beautifully written and the ending is a heart stopper.
