{mr. patience}

{mr. patience}

A Poem by living lavender
"

is a virtue

"

patience peeking around a corner

wondering if he is allowed to speak

hoping no one notices his presence

as he watches all sow what they reap

people ask for patience constantly

even reserve him a simple seat

but no one listens to his advice

everyone barely lets him eat

public demand creates silly questions

never wanting to hear any truth

while patience loses himself consistently

like a wise man lacking youth

________

{ "excuse me patience - hi it's me

grateful for your undeserving time.

i will be quick with my small question

is it safe to call you mine?...." }

The concept of personifying patience isn't a common thing I've found in many writings. Anger, lust, greed--all those seem to have a character, but nobody really seems to give Patience the time of day. Like, dude can hardly get a word in edgewise, trying to explain, while everyone else is rushing. The first stanza rings true for my personal life. This is well done, Lav :)

I love the creativity here. What an expressive way to call out those who are inconsiderate of others and lack perspective. This absolutely makes on feel for patience and there are plenty who could stand to read this.

thank you babe :)
{you are always welcome here.}
Seems there are days when I can consider patience a virtue and there are days when my patience runs very thin. Can't seem to find a good middle ground. Hope you can. Nicely done.

{stop by anytime.}
Patience isn't the most popular guest at most dinners.
Most are prone to rush through life without thinking...
They just nod at patience...smile and then hurry up to the next thing in life they want to do.

It is indeed a virtue, but not an easy one to live by. We live in a fast moving world, takes a huge effort to slow down. I certainly need to find some. Enjoyed the personification in this poem. Well done.
