A Horrible Girlfriend

A Horrible Girlfriend

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

This is just me yelling at myself about Richie when I tried to leave a long time ago....he....well he did EVERYTHING in this poem...I just found out now...from now on its only him. always.

"
I don’t see how you put up with it.
The insults & the lies I spit.
I make things up just to hurt you.
To get you back for things I think you do.

And in the end I only hurt myself,
Because it hurts me to see you hurt yourself.
Yet I’m the source of all the anguish,
I’m the reason you want your life extinguished.

Throwing yourself in front of cars,
Bleeding all night, leaving scars.
Drinking until you can’t remember my name,
But in the morning the problem’s the same.

Rampaging, breaking windows, busting walls,
Turning your face to the sky, “I HATE YOU ALL!”
Then wake hours later, to find ur voicemail full,
Of me apologizing between sobs for all of my bull.

“Baby, I’m sorry, I treat you worse than I should,
But I promise, from here on out I’ll be good.”
Can we make it? Can I keep my word?

This pointless fighting is all so absurd.
