Choking Vines.

Choking Vines.

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

This is what used to happen when I thought about Don.

"

My thoughts braid into a vine.
Twisting around my frame.
They’re going to get me this time.
All I can gasp out is your name.

You can’t be banished from my brain.
Wish you’d just get out of here.
Every thought of you causes me pain.
Each one fills me with fear.

You’re strangling me slowly.
I think I’m finally through.
I never felt so unholy.
As when I was with you.

The vines are covering me now.
Sweeping over my nose and mouth.
There must be a way, but how?
My last thought as I black out.

I have felt just as trapped before...
my only escape was love...
the love that shone from far away...
the love that drew me near...
but now pushes away my feelings...
but without,I'm nothing...
my dream is escape...
to fly away like a bird...
my lonelysoul becoming the clouds...
