The Tempest

For all of you that have experienced a tempest in your life.

Awake I am as the storm rages on,
As the willows weep and the billow clouds keep,
The rain falls as would tears from a human being that has been shamed,
Shamed for being their self, as the rain falls the thunder carries on,
Like the words from a deceiver of whom you must not believe,
For the tempest is nearly over and you will find your soul to keep,
Just renounce the evil and you will not weep,
For your soul is yours to keep.

Really interesting poem. I like the way that you've chosen words and repeated them (like keep, weep, and shamed.) It gives me a feeling of the poem folding in on itself and revisiting previous ideas in new ways.

Yes, your poem inspired me to write the part about how your soul is yours to keep. Although you wrote about souls being vigil and open to all. It started me thinking about souls in general and what qualities they might have and I found that they belong to us and only us.

I apologize if i'am wrong but i think your saying you can always change your life and find a good soul inside of you and/or saying it's your soul,your body,your life, your path. Change your life if you want a better one.
You should never be ashamed for your past or life, be proud of who you are.
