Tears of Blood

Tears of Blood

A Poem by Aaryamaan Rao
"

A catharsis from when I was feeling rather down.

"
In the hour of quiet,
my shivering form lays.
I've been thinking "
of life; but more of death.

My lack of purpose,
and broken dreams.
Broken bones and strangled screams.
And so arrives the son of Night.

He cries a lot,
His tears are blood.
He pleads for mercy,
Not knowing that he's dead.

Watching him weep,
I can't ever sleep.
He just sits there in the black corner,
until his tears turn to blood.

The screams then return,
and demons dance in his eyes.
He can see me, but he's blind.
I was once him, I think.

But then my dreams died,
and so did my heart.
I try to reach out to him,
But I find that my voice is gone.

The world taught me silence,
and I do my best to pretend.
but with him in sight,
I have to be deaf too.

He just gazes at me,
weeping till his eyes bleed.
I think he was me once,
since then, I've grown tame.

Back then, it was all day,
and I smiled at my future.
But then it started to decay,
now, I don't dream anymore.
I think bleeding tears is to blame.

He tries calling my name,
not knowing that I,
abandoned it, by my grave.
The last time I cried blood.

He just longs for me to be free,
kneeling and crying tears of blood.
I think that we were the same,
And then, I changed.
