I wrote this shortly after meeting my boyfriend...though at the time I didn't realize he would become my boyfriend...he stayed...<3

Come a little bit closer

Can I tell you a secret?

I’m not always this open

I keep the covers of my life’s book closed

I’m not quite sure just what it is

That makes me feel like talking now 

Perhaps the words on my pages 

Are screaming to be heard

So here I am

I offer you myself 

Take your fingers, crack the cover

O! so gently trace the spine

Turn the pages one by one 

Drink in each line and verse 

Let me introduce myself 

Allow me to wait and see

If you’re brave enough to stay
