No Favorites

A Poem by Laura Kate

I used to think I had favourites
but now I don't really mind
the one I think about most
is the one whose easiest to find

some of them stay longer
some of them leave fast
the one thing they all have in common is
none of them ever last

this could allude to many things...but for me it is significant others...who have stayed a significantly short time ...especially the wives...oh well.
no favorites, just maybe relief they are gone...
and life is peaceful, at last. So I replaced an "ever last" with an "at last."
oh my i relate to this Laura.

Since I went to high school in a small agricultural town (back in 1970's), most folks are rigid about their lifelong friendships -- it's impossible to elbow into these lifelong cliques. I, on the other hand, loved to ramble & met hundreds of new people, so your poem describes me. You make it feel like having "no favorites" is a good thing, not a problem! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

I can see this as someone who indulges in too many hobbies, (thinking about myself). It also can be seen as ones weird evolving pandora station list. So many things, yeah. This poem is very relatable. Even if this reviewer misses the mark somewhat. Good work. CD
