![]() Lightening Bugs or FirefliesA Poem by JessLoudlyWhispering![]() Dewy, Southern Evening![]()
Growing up, there are "lightening bugs" or "fireflies" etched with graceful flight.
Slow and quiet. I want to hold them like I used to. I want to let them go like I used to. Not long ago, I sat. The bulbs lightly kissing the dewy night air. Childhood memories began to flitter. Now...
I hope his five year old feet will chase them as I once did. I hope at seven years old she will feel the wonder. When we hold something so beautiful, it is difficult to let it go. Then glow lingers though as our palms open. I am graceful in my gathering of memories and hopeful in my future ones. Ancient bulbs. You lead me again. Dewy night sky. Southern humidity. Slow and quiet. © 2018 JessLoudlyWhisperingReviews
