Do the Dead Dream?

My mind is transfixed by several questions right now
The most ambiguous of which:
  Do the dead dream?
And, if so do we, therefore, die a little
Each and every night as we sleep?

Further questions dawn on me now:
  Are we living dead?
  Are we dead all but in our sleep?

It's a fairly common belief that we are nothing,
And that only further nothingness awaits us;
But, being neither atheist or nihilist,
I politely disagree with that assumption--

I like the idea that our dreams
Suggest a greater continuum--
If they are not life themselves;
And life itself is in fact death disguised--

thank you much, sir. one of the things about existential paradigms that irritates me so, is how my mind gets an idea, which is really more of a question, which later becomes several questions, then my mind is awake all night (and guess what, i'm awake all night too) answering these questions in my own head. However, that is also the thing i love the most about the existential paradigm. you might say it's a bittersweet process/relationship i have with my somewhat chaotic mind.
And, mr. jacob, the only thing i love more, is when someone like yourself is giving a good serving in the muse bowl after reading the chaotic thoughts of my mind, and better yet, enjoyed it as well.
