A Cat's Dream

A Cat's Dream

A Poem by Lourisa

I closed my eyes and saw a fish
swimming in my water bowl.
"Don't make me a dish,"
the sweet fish asked,
"but take me back to the rabbit's hole.
He's preparing a feast
and all is invited,
so please take me east
I'm so excited,
to dine on a cat
just imagine that!"
I opened my eyes and ran to my bowl.
No fish in there,
just ants running to and fro.

Well, I hope you don't hurry on that journey to ... but seriously, I getting a vibe about "rabbit holes" as a recurring thought phrase that echos (echos, echos ...) around your inner dome. A cat fish is so called because: A.) They're fat, like a lot of cats. B.) They love to eat cats. C.) It's a thing they feel compelled to do when they see them swimming. Now, the ants. Oh, the lovely, little, horrible, hideous, tenacious and not-to-misunderstood-or-messed-with ants. Yes, yes a terrible mess. No, no, that will not do.. my creative, wonderful Lourisa-poo. Please, just try to quit stepping in the goo. OK?

As near surreal as you'll get on a wet morning! Love the way this goes, builds momentum, line by line and is still there, quivering away. Love it, happily!

No dont be serious! I loved this! I must admit that I am a cat person so I can perfectly picture this in my head! I love fun poetry like this! You have perfectly portrayed a cat's independent but fun-loving personality! Great job!
