Shatter my soul

Shatter my soul

A Poem by LalaLuciegirl

When life comes down to it
we all fall
nothing is here to keeps us from the edge
loved ones leave
happiness subsides
and the heart withers
and dies

I look in the mirror
and see only failure
the image that looks back
is flipping me off
I raise my hand
and shatter the mirror

My love and my life
seem too intertwined
I am breaking from the inside
and climbing down the vine

The screams ring in my ears
and I hold my head
wish the noise would
hide back under the bed

The monsters creep up
and hold my heart
they smile with hate in their eyes
and tempt in their lips
I am falling under
and embracing the hands
pulling me farther

My lungs fill with the dark and formless sadness
that is drowning me slowly
my heart held above in the hands of
the monster, I reach and reach
and watch my lover appear;
his figure next to the monster
my vision blurs and starts to fade
the last thing I see is a tear slip from
my lovers eye
and solidify
the sorrow that has captured me.
