Trapped

Trapped

A Poem by Lucas C. M.

When the walls close in,
And the darkness begins to spread,
When the prison begins to grow,
Ever smaller in size,

The light begins to leave,
As your prison darkens,
Your mind strains,
To keep light in your life,

Looking for rationalization,
You try to assess yourself,
You ask yourself the words,
Am I crazy?

As your question goes unanswered,
You slowly begin to split,

The despair grips you,
The sadness holds you,
Doubt deceives you,
As your feelings go unanswered,

The days fly by,
One after another,
As your pleads for help,
Go unanswered,

You try to make them realize,
To see just how you feel,
You watch,
And slowly even your life drains away,

Bit by bit you lose the will,
You stop eating,
You quit drinking,
You slowly begin to die,
Just like you have inside,

Well conveyed lines. The prison in the mind is not an easy one to escape from.

This is very deep, very moving. I love that about poetry how deepand emotional it gets.
I usually like poems that rhyme allot more, but this was very good for a poem without a rhyme scheme.
Very very well penned
