Hills of Myst

Hills of Myst

A Poem by Luna

A Land Not Far Away

"

Hills of Myst

The day has gone and past

And night has fallen at last

You lay in bed, closing your eyes

And your spirit begins to fly

Over the vast oceans, and the seas

Feeling the warmth of the breeze

You suddenly land in a beautiful field

Wondering what could possibly be revealed

You see a stream, so calm, ever flowing

And you see flowers growing

Blue ones, green ones, red ones too

Just growing all around you

And look up into the sky

Just wishing you can soar that high

Noticing the bright shining moon

And birds flying, singing a tune

The stars in the sky, twinkling so bright

And you want to make a wish on one tonite

And you look at the stream and think,

"Can this be a dream?"

Slowly dipping your hand into the beautiful stream

And seeing a mother and daughter playing, like it was a dream

But then suddenly, it disappears

And then suddenly, you start to feel fears

The moon and stars fading away,

And waking up, you see the sun, starting a new day

You rub your eyes, just to make sure

To make sure what you endure

Was a dream untold

Something you long to behold

But the dream is gone, and so is that land

And you knew it wasn't planned

But til night falls again, you will soon arrive

To that faithful land, where you felt...alive.

You captured the essence of this dream beautifully Rayven. I simply enjoyed the ability to let my mind wander, and picture it in my minds eye.
This class of poetry inspires, and reminds us to look at the brighter side of life, even while srrounded by the daily toils that can cause us to fixate on the negative.
Wonderfully done!
