Innocent

Innocent

A Poem by Luna

Embrace the cruel and demeaning glances of the free

and perish under the smoldering looks of strangers.

Choose either corridor…

Darkness…

Light…

Twilit and split in the disappearing

fabric of a woman’s dress.

Come, little one

Get lost in the fabrications that life creates.

Choose either corridor…

Darkness…

Light…

Supple life, embodiment of youth,

pluck away your cares.

Be careful of what you wish for in the end you may get

Your just deserts.

Speak plainly, and directly so the creeping croppers can hear about themselves

in your pitch-like voice.

Choose either corridor…

Darkness…

Light…

Fill in the bubbles of the endings

with new beginnings.

Choose, choose, choose or

lose yourself like Alice.
