Bound and Tethered

Bound and Tethered

A Poem by Kenneth Compton
"

An earlier work of mine that wasn't so great, but it's good enough for me.

"

The sound rises up from the Darkness
Sweet melody of the Temptress
Hunger writhes in the depths of my soul
And I feel the world going cold

Break these chains that bind me
I'll go where none can find me
Mold a Parody
To find a way to hold me
(To this world)

The colours bleed into nothingness
Frail chastity of Emptiness
Sorrow breeds in crevisces of mind
As I see the world going blind

Break these chains that bind me
I'll go where none can hurt me
Weave a tapestry
To find a way to stitch me
(To this world)

The Silence rolls in from the LIfeless
Sick levity of the causeless
Anger burns in the depths of my heart
And I feel the world fall apart

Break these chains that bind me
I'll go where the blind can't see
Shape Reality
Still you can not enslave me
You can't cage me
You can't frame me
To your world.

love the ending. i also really liked the ... medieval-like feel of the poem. it had a very strong, very knight-like tone to it. :)
