He sat at the dinning rom table drumming his fingers on it. He looked toward the closed and locked door where he heard his parents speaking with someone. Feeling annoyed he dropped his head letting his short, shoulder length dark brown hair fall around his face.

Just as he was about to take out his ipod the door opened. "Hey mom...is this going to take long. I promised Lexi I would meet her at 5:30...and it’s already 5" he said looking at her confused. "No this won’t take long hun...you can come in now" she said smiling at him. He nodded and got up walking into the room spotting his father. He turned around hearing the door close. "Nice to finally meet you...I’ve heard so many good things about you" he heard an unfamiliar male say to him. He turned around looking at the stranger and then looked at his parents. "What’s going on?...what’s this all about?"...

"So that’s when it happened?" a male asked crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at the one sitting at the table. Dark gray hair surrounding his face. He tilted his head slightly and a bright green eye showed from the darkness that covered his face. He raised his handcuffed hands onto the table, smiling at the detective in front of him. "Maybe if you take this off of me...I’ll tell you from the beginning" the 19 year old male said smiling with a sinister look on his face. "I wasn’t born yesterday, Dante" the detective sighed sitting in the chair on the opposite side of the table, rubbing his brow. "I don’t understand, Dante...you were David’s best friend...what the hell happened to you?" the detective asked. "Detective Williams...I’m not sure that’s any of your business" Dante said. The detective just stood staring at him sadly looking in his green eyes, that glowed brightly. "Just...tell me...please" the detective. Dante stood quite leaning forward on the table. "Are you actually willing to listen?" Dante asked "every word...this was a year ago and I’m still trying to figure out what happened" the detective said. A slow smirk came onto his face. "From the beginning then?" he said. The detective nodded.

One year earlier...

A women around the age of 4o stood inside the empty house looking around while the movers kept coming in and out of the house placing boxes down and bringing in furniture. "This house is perfect, Anthony" she said as her husband walked in carrying a box. She turned around laughing seeing clearly he was having trouble. He put the bo down letting out a breath he had apparently been holding in. "Oh come on...even Dante could have picked that up without a problem" she said putting her hands on her hips. "Well I’m not Dante am I?" he said leaning against the wall, when Dante walked in hands in pockets while he looked around. "Wow...it is nice" he said, his mother walking over to him and hugging him "isn’t it?" she said happily "Yeah...still would have been nice if you would have asked me about moving though you know" he said "Now I have to wake up even earlier to get to school on time" he said seeing her roll her eyes. "And what would you have liked me to say?" she asked "Oh you know...the usual. ‘Hey Dante, your father and I are thinking about moving...how do you feel about the idea?’ something along that line would have been nice" he said brushing his dark brown hair back. "Well if I would have done that it all would have just been a waste. In the end we would have moved whether you wanted to or not" she said "She has a point" his father stepped in. "Well...I am a part of the great Aspen family...you know excuse me for thinking this but you know I just thought what I wanted too counted" sarcasm in his voice. "Listen it isn’t that far from the school. Your just going to have to wake up an half an hour earlier than you would usually have to" his mother said while unpacking. He looked at her with an eyebrow raised looking like he just wanted to grab the pan next to her and wack her over the head with it. He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Yeah mind you I usually got up at 5 am...now I have to get up at 4:30 am...yup definitely looking forward to that ma" he said "Oh it’s not that bad" she said looking at him. He held his hands up defensively. "Hey what’s done is done right...it’s not like your going to move back if I ask...why bother complaining" he said sitting on the couch. "At least it’s Friday right?" his father said smiling walking over to him "Do you want a hug...maybe a fluffy bunny...a doggy biscuit maybe? He joked" dante laughed pushing his father away playfully. "A unicorn?" "All right all right...you made your point...seriously though don’t worry. I’ll get used to it. Next week might be a little hard but I can deal" he sighed "Glad to hear...now go get your 18 year old but upstairs and unpack your things" his father said. Dante nodded heading up the stairs when he noticed one of the movers walking in with a strange looking black chest, engraving covered the box. It almost looked evil especially the eyes that were engraved on the lid of it, making him feel like they were staring at him. "Where does this go?" the mover asked, looking like he wanted to put the chest down as soon as possible. "Dad, what’s that?" Dante asked with a raised eyebrow. "In there" his dad said pointing to a room next to dinning room "Dad!" Dante called again making his father look at him "Huh, What?" "The chest...what is that...I’ve never seen that before" Dante said "It’s nothing. Just a chest I was given...creepy huh?" he father asked looking up at the stairs laughing a little. "More than a little creepy if you ask me" Dante said walking up the stairs

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"That was the first sign...but I didn’t bother. I left it alone" Dante said his green eyes gazing at the table as he seemed to be tracing an invisible design on the table. The detective watched intently as he listened to Dante. "What damage could a box do, right?" Dante chuckled "Right" the detective said "Wrong...that thing was the root of my problems that were going to come" he said looking up at the detective sending a shiver down his spine at the sudden gaze change from the table to him. "What do you mean?" the detective asked. Dante chuckled again "This is only th beginning detective...it gets better...I promise you" Dante said...
