euphoria?
not sure exactly where it is
                        but
when i can almost feel your ginger scent
as it wafts through my space
              so hypnotic
                                 ahhhhhh....
i remember the swaying steps
to a distant dance
           did you know
                  fireworks are not just

                       for the fourth of july?
then you kiss my lips
your eyes suddenly thoughtful
as if considering the flavor
and i espy a crumb of desire
waiting for my tongue
         right there
and i,  my love
i am downright deliquescent
that's when i’m pretty sure
euphoria is not too far from here

"did you know
firewords are not just for
the fourth of July".

It is rare, in the middle of a love poem, that the writer stops and poses a question to the reader. It
makes the reader stop and refocus on the poems human importance, and by that I mean,
susceptible to and representative of the sympathies and frailties of hominid love.

nicely written, as always.

"i espy a crumb of desire"

but then that leads to whole piece of bread...and it is soft and tasty and toasty...

and jams like a true love's passion.

Ah, this is euphoric, for lack of a better word! It is clear that you've shaped every word with happiness, and chiseled a beautiful poem out of it! Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem :)

Just popping on the Cafe for a few minutes as I'm battling another round of crazy vertigo......but had to read this after seeing the incredible image that sets the mood for your poem - your words are equally as incredible and elegant, and certainly are beautiful enough to ignite fireworks any evening! I hope euphoria inches in even closer for you!!
Truly beautiful Lydi!!

i'm not sure if i'll ever find the words to say just how breathtaking your poetry is. for me, euphoria is only a click away. So lovely and lyrical. I had almost forgotten it's a Friday. ;)

You are welcome...:).................
Can I say it is found very close at hand because your beautiful poem is filled with euphoria? Enchanting Lydi, you have a way of bringing flowers to a long ago deserted garden, full and fragrant where beauty prior was only a faint memory. Lovely my friend.
