When dusk whittles the day
down to mere shadows
you crawl into the bottomless pockets
of my fantasies
inflaming the edges of craving
awakening sleepy longing
you measure my meaning
not with syllables
but with sensations
          oui, mon amour
with the lyrical elegance of a kiss
you help me tattoo the naked page
and I thank you

I love the idea of bottomless pockets of fantasy!! Tattoo the naked page! There is so much to be said about the lovely flow of this poem. I am especially satisfied with the unity of the theme. All too often I find poems stray from the main topic. This one remains intimately, intensely focused on its object of affection, and I believe that is the best one can do in writing!

Lydi... "the lyrical elegance of a kiss" at the end
of the day when we whittle along with the orange
glow of the setting sun.... feeling the sweet jazz
of sensations. Your poetry is a balm of love.
truly... Pat

Oh sigh, another great piece of romance here Lydi, I like the line: " you crawl into the bottomless pockets of my fantasies" you know how illusive that is? and how daydreamy? I think you have such a sheer talent, for making every piece a special one. I always swoon away when you speak French too in your poems, sheer brilliance. ;) thank you for being the beautiful you Lydi... knuffels!

P.s. such a nice artwork too...

There is always a magic in your words... your thoughts as colors on a canvas... What a beautiful, sensual sigh of elegance and wonder...

Dear Lydia Shutter,

Hello how are you? I was just looking through my newsfeed and thought I might check out some interesting pieces. This happened to be the first one on the list so I thought I might take a look. I have to say I enjoyed reading this. Reading these words was like listening to the playing of sweet jazz music. Indeed smooth, romantic, and nicely strung. This has definitely earned a place in Miss Keke's library hehe.

Good job.

Sincerely JazzSoulKeke,

God bless

You are most welcome,dear Lydi.:)
This is, as always, a beautiful write. But it is sensual, sexy, and telling. The writer's muse embedded in the write. Love it.
