a long hot summer

a long hot summer

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by virginie bocaert

the afternoon
         sweltering in south florida heat
unbuttons her shirt
     such a sexy little number
then throws it seductively in his direction
as she cavorts in a suddenly red-hot sea of green
he breathes in her scent
     so enticing
a perfect blend of musk and buttercups
                  ahhhhh!
he pops open a can of desire’s brew
ah yes, any fool can see
it’s going to be a long

                gloriously hot
                           summer

Ohh, who would want anything else but length in this kind of sensual summer, where "desire's brew" keeps boiling.. as the romance fills and intoxicates all senses.
A familiar scene delivered with such class, elegance and eloquence!!
loved it as always!! :D

Beautiful artwork and tempting words dear Poet. A hot day, the sea near and beautiful women near. No better place to be. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome Lydia.
Hmmmm...a lov-a-ly scenario to get the couch potato off the couch... to cut the grass!

So sexy and playful... how the summer ignites the lights of a thousand fires within us with its sweet sensuality... and you let us see just why... A long gloriously hot summer indeed!

I can really feel the "heat" in this beautiful, sensual poem Lydi. Summers can be long here in NC too, but what a delight if supplemented by moments such as this :-)
