simple things

simple things

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

a little romance for a summer afternoon

seeing your shadow
through a bubble of light
a chiaroscuro hinting at what might be
i rush to translate you into the language of love
verbs sway on the tree of life=s high branches
nouns slosh over my overfilled plate
i hum a song of change
of viewing things through life=s blurry lens
knowing my emotions are forever genuine
yes, i am certain
from alpha to omega simple things inspire love

'i rush to translate you into the language of love.. '

Can be the scent of... the sound of.. the call of... and the mind and heart sings!

And you - as ever always, have put those brief words into such a warm, sincere yet scintillating place. I've read again, aloud.. and applaud with smiles galore. Beautiful.

Lydi this is very romantic but it has me thinking of Orlando Bloom's shadow, which I really enjoyed and wanted to see more of. I love how you've taken something often portrayed as dark and menacing and turned it romantic. Gorgeous.

The simple things. Yes. I feel so much love and compassion in your writing, it flows over, in your word choice, the subjects about which you write, the images and the fonts you choose. I am especially taken by the life=s blurry lens -- beautiful.

My friend, believe me when I tell you I would be better off if I were not such an emotional being. .. read more
"... transmutating into the archive lang. Of favorable love... & inspired love, alpha to omega??"

That's captivating. Very deep. Well sewed. & historically quite garnished... with romania words. Metaphor's sing-song love seems to be much metalinguistic in all ways. Impressive thoughts!

I love that line about nouns. But then I enjoy the whole love poem.

I had to look up what "chiaroscuro" meant. (Yes, I know I'm a philistine. I'm good with that) Love can be quite simple. Dogs love WAY better than people do and look how simple they are. Great poem

Correct. It is the simple things that can get you love. I like the way you translate your love in "swaying verbs" and "sloshing nouns"
