my skin remembers

my skin remembers

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

it's friday night!

my skin remembers

the electrified intimacy

soft as velvet yet wielding an unrivaled intensity

yesterday was blurry

tomorrow was a naked page

and that day, well, that day was a flower blooming

a peach ripening to its juicy best

yes, my skin remembers

it’s true…. from this standpoint of long ago

and so very far away

                even behind my foster grants

the memory continues to electrify

Woah! If feelings are ravishing and passionate, words bring them out alive and prime, and as refreshing as they ever were.
"yesterday was blurry

"that day was a flower blooming
a peach ripening to its juicy best"

I know it's what I say about all your writing, but I love this one. The title is very catchy & memorable, sticking in the front of my mind as I read the rest . . . all these sensory details nicely supporting your initial premise. Love the phrase: "electrified intimacy" . . . & of course there is nothing more sensual than eating a ripe peach that drips sweetness all over everything.

Thank you very much, Margie. I was away for a week. Sorry this thank you took so long. Lydi**
Lydi, come Winter you're going to save me so much cash on heating bills! When i need warmth, when i need feel the power of whatever it is you provide.. (and oh yes, innocent lil me doesn't understand).. will share the heat emanating from your poetry and just lie back, dreaming... fanning myself with a Thesaurus. Delightfully put, tasteful, elegant...excuse me, must go open a window.. :)

You're more than welcome.... :)
The mood and muse are so intensely passionate that they fervently combine to melt away the stresses and strains of the working week to edifying effect!

A delightful read Lydia that would surely satiate the libido of even the most disconnected and disconcerted of wandering souls !

that must have been a really really really electrified moment Lydi.. so are the Forster Grants to hide the blush you are still feeling and still on display.. ;0) but that was yesterday, it's those peach ripened tomorrow's naked page I would anticipate with electrified skin... oh yeah... intimacy at its sensual best Lydi and your words make my skin tingle... thank you, it's Forster Grant "nice", Lydi....

Romance and memories rolled into one.
But more importantly. Foster Grants.
That's a blast from the past.
