okay

okay

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

when the world was too loud

and voices drowned each other out

you were always my calm

my deep breath

my true north

authentic and true

accepting my beliefs

whether you agreed or not

but now opinions push me

this way and that

like a high school bully

i go to our place

at the shoreline

the sun dances in a pool

of orange-pink-yellow

and if i squint just enough

i swear i see you waving at me

telling me today is the day

everything will be okay

Some people do have that kind of effect on our lives, and I think it is wonderful when they do! Whether they are still in our lives or not, they remain special in our hearts and minds! A wonderful poem, Lydi**, and one which I'm sure many readers will instantly be able to identify with!

I think we could all use that shoreline about now, wrapping ourselves in those "orange-pink-yellow" vistas... as a friend and admirer of your poetry Lydi, you may not be able to see me, but I am also waving and enjoying you and your poetry.... it's all very "nice".... and good at work for this poem....

Pleased you could relate, Jacob. Thank you for the review. Lydi**
So romantic and beautiful. You have those wonderful assurances from your beloved beyond. They still exist in another plane of existence waiting for our connections one day. It is always good to have those positive thoughts dear Lydia.
I think your friend is the sea or ocean now...
