Have you ever been called home by trumpets?

Have you ever been called home by trumpets?

A Poem by LynnTashio
"

A sonnet holding the expressions of a warrior's love for the land and the people they fight to protect.

"

Have you ever been called home by trumpets?

Your war steed trotting through the parting crowd,
Everyone gathered, their children and pets,
Gazing at the saviors whose lives they owed?

The glistening home land is our live-hood.
We sow and tilt the soil for harvest,
And watch the clouds go by from where we stood,
Praying to god our land withstood time’s test.

We watch the banners caught high in the breeze.
Summer winds taking hold over the free,
Soldiers who live life with courage and ease,
Taking hold their sword to all foe for thee.

The soldiers take arms to protect their land,
And the people within to guide their hand.

I wrote this as an english assignment in about 30 minutes. If there are any grammar problems do let me know. Please ignore the rhyme of 'crowd' and 'owed'. I know they don't rhyme, but I couldn't find anything that rhymed with 'crowd', if you happen to know of a word that would match with my poem's flow please let me know.
