Dad

Dad

A Poem by MOON

There is your love in bloom in my life

I see it Dad your hands your eyes wise

The ocean called me in the grey white

You in my heart never fading light

I speak your name to the silent wind

In amazing grace forever I leaned

For a moment I touch you in song

My soul breaks where it should have been strong

Memory is the comfort spent hours

The broken pieces in me still flowers

You are the shadow guiding the sun

You whisper destiny can be won

I find you in the beauty of time

Crystal clear ringing in golden chime

Shoulders bent to the swaying of life

In harmony delicate with strife

Gentle spirit subtle world view

Every remembrance the allure you

A heartfelt tribute to your Dad. I feel a little teary eyed right now because I have such sweet memories of my Dad too. I hope those memories comfort you. This poem was so touching. Lydi**

Thank you Lydia , go well .
I write this review with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye, but also with many happy memories swirling around in my mind...my dad was a fisherman, and we lived right on the shore (my Mom still does, and I just happen to be visiting and looking out on the water as I read this piece)...I could get up in the morning, go out on the porch, and see his boat circling around...when we lost him to Cancer two years ago, we went out on my uncle's boat and scattered his ashes along the shore...so you can imagine how deeply the first stanza resonated with me, and everything that followed unlocked different stages of our relationship...this is my new favourite from your catalogue...I always relate to your work but this one took it to a whole new level...beautiful work my friend, thanks so much for sharing this one.

Quite a nice and touching tribute to your father. You wrote this with an enriched sense of imagery, a vivid setting amongst a balmy breeze, beneath and enchanting moon, very nice.

Beautiful poetry for your father. I like the places and thoughts you took me with. I find my father in my laughter and in the mirror. His face had become my face. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

This touched me. It seems in poetry circles our father's don't always slip into our poems as easily as others, in our lives. This is the second such poem that honors a father that I've read today on the w/c, the other was by lee von cleef, who wrote a poem called "Apache". You should check it out, you might like it.
A well written ode, Moon. And I look forward to once again, exploring your work.

Diego.
