The School on Grand Avenue

The School on Grand Avenue

A Story by Madeline Derujinsky

I’m tired, its not really the school on grand avenue I’m tired of though,I’m tired of school. The small mindedness of these immature beings that surround me for ten hours a day. I cant wait to get out, to move on. Marissa says it’s not just me, there are others like us. Forced into early maturity, we see the world different, we see it like grown ups. Sadly we are grown ups in little baby bodies, stuck in big jail cells with tons of other baby bodies who’s brains are nothing like ours. I can wait to get that piece of paper that says I’m finally free. That airplane and a six hour flight to skyscrapers and taxis. A small little loft with a view. A short walk to campus and cafe dates and morning jogs and afternoon classes and pilates sessions. And a big farewell to the rest of this world we call high school. Maybe we are just too mature for high school
