sweet intoxication

sweet intoxication

A Poem by Madeline Derujinsky

Cinnamon eyes he said, but i think they look like beer. like a dark ale when you put it up to the sunlight.
skin not sweet like coffee and milk, but lukewarm like lake water.
something people love when they are in the dark
but when they wake up the next morning its nothing but word vomit.
"Its me not you."
beer not tea
dark and intoxicating, not sweet and comforting.
they always leave
just goes to show intoxication can only be loved for so long.
bitter sweet.
