Strings Attached

A Poem by RastaChiko™

October 15, 2013

You are the first amazing thing
that has come into my life
without strings attached.

And I've been overcome with happiness
more than ever before
in my life.

But you seem to good to be true
and my anxiety has climbed into my lungs
and has left me starving for air.

So I've tied strings to your wrists
and to the beating in my chest
and I can finally breathe again.

Now there are forces stopping me
from being selfish with you
and I swear to God I'm in love.
