Tell me a story
the kind with a happy ending
one that leads to pleasant dreams
and starts my heart to mending

Tell me a story
of princes, princesses, kings, and queens
of magic, wonder, and enchantment
that keeps me safe within my dreams

Tell me a story
of true love and romantic lines
and a knight in shining armor
for whom the lovesick princess pines

Tell me a story
of fierce battles with dragons and more
of the brave knight who saves the villagers
and wins the treasure of ancient lore

Tell me a story
of the knight''s glorious return
of the princess whom he loves
and the throne his valor earned

Tell me a story
of a coronation celebrated throughout the land
of the wedding heralded centuries after
and the princess who accepted his hand

Tell me a story
I promise to suspend disbelief
I need the comfort it provides
to serenade me to my sleep

Lovely. You've captured the classic Fairytale story through poetry.

I like the touch where you started each stanza by saying, "Tell me a story."

And of course each line starts with a capital letter, at lease in poetry, just so you know.
