Death

Death

A Poem by Markus
"

Just something I thought up during a dark moment.

"

Death

climbed the stairs

to the bedroom where I

slept. I felt the cold decay

of life slipping. My shallow breathing

slowing, becoming faint. The specter slid

through the door and into the black room - hungering.

The willpower to fight him was fleeting. Death was here.

Shadows gathered over the bed, blotting out all light. Sightless

eyes seeing black. Infinite darkness. The final beat signaled his time. I

felt nothing - then

freedom.

Wow! That is wonderful. I have never read anything so dark, that was that good and interesting. This is such a wonderful poem. I love all of it. It has good flow the the structure is nice too. I loved how you started it by saying, "Death climbed down thestairs," as soon as I read that, I knew that I had to read the rest. LOL! :)
