Inspiration Where

Inspiration Where

A Poem by Malen

Inspiration lost thought
Blank emptiness emerging
Nothingness, the nothing caught
Left to go about word searching
As frustration keeps lurking

If it's there and I can't see it
Maybe I can be it?

Feet meet cold ground
Shivers force rubbing
While wind stirs around
Not even a bird heard chirping
Nothingness remains emerging

If it's not here and I can't feel it
Maybe I can free it?

Surrounding in warmth
Fires heat on wood burn
Books piled above hearth
A million words turn
In pages they call worth
Where am I, on this earth?

Which came first, the writer or the muse? If the muse is hiding then what an evil game; if the muse has been captured - held hostage by writer's block - then what a shame. Either way, when we write through it we often find that the muse hasn't left at all. Seems to me your 'wordless pile of blank thought' has lots to say, though it may not be the kind of thoughts you were dreaming of sharing. Nicely written .

Thank you. Words seem to be ever present, but execution is taunting.

A very refreshing write on a very popular subject as the writer's block. I like how you, instead of crying about the woes of lack of inspiration, you decided to analyze the situation and become the inspiration and to free it off any obstacles and blockages in its path. I hope you will find your way to overcome it!

A case of a writer's block I suppose. Well written, and as a fellow writer I can say it goes away. It never sticks too long.
