Rebirth

Rebirth

A Poem by Malen

Displaced the soul aches withering.
A weathered face, out of place, ingresses mind.
Replacing an untenable state with grace.
Worn dreams, held elusive to whom press.
Held tight, her wish, lives free.

Cooling wind playfully tosses her hair, delicately.
Reminiscent reflections of spiritus cheer.
Illusions keep her comforts near.
From here, she only needs to fly, leaving everything behind.

Iron bars, locked within, surround her destiny.
Attempting to mend wounds, she keeps openly.
Misunderstandings, unspoken, forced into shape.
Chasing away intentions of changing her fate.

Standing tall, spreading arms, as if to summon the black art.
Lifting herself, with heart held high, towards open sky.
Invisible to their eye, many pass by, paying no mind.
Releasing, through her minds eye,a beginning.

A spirit, longing to be free, never holds breath long.
Eventually releasing, into its inner species.
Be it angel or demon, repenting or unforgiven.
In life or death, it will come to allegresse, unrepressed.

Breaking free her dread held heart.
In deep breath, plays her part.
Taming the demons that once caged freedom.
Ready, willing, able to greet them.
Warm blood runs red, torn flesh imparts, a rebirth of heart.
