Empty

Empty

A Poem by Malen

Heavy memories fall harder.
This moment couldn't last longer.
Heart held back, rib caged.
Becoming enraged.
Falling tears describe farther.

Emotion filling veins.
Creating a creature of pangs.
Unable to comprehend
This unforgiving end.
Falling damp from what reins.

In body departed.
A heart unregarded.
Laying in casket -
Buried basket
Springs blossom marks the regarded.

O where is it written?
Life unforgiven.
Torn apart from love.
Told they watch above
Left beneath feeling stricken.

Rewrite this life.
One more time, my wife.
This ending can't be what was meant.
From all we underwent.
This is not right!

That is a tragic tale of love and loss, to the same degree as Tristan and Isolde, Romeo and Juliet, Abelard and Heloise. Very poignant and lamentable, piques to the core.
