Silence Speaks

Silence Speaks

A Poem by Malen

Inhaling deep
Breathing out
In each subsequent breath
A story collects.
A story that is sent
To the small creatures
Whose lives are spent
Listening for that silence.
Gathering around as if an event
A great poets ascent, then
Carried off to their tiny towns
Where everything is written down.
Carefully then, placed on shelves
Decorated, displayed for all to see.
So when you ask me to speak
You must know,
I respect the creature ears, so meek
And rarely will you hear me.
But know this --
A poet, a story, always lives in me.
