Mayday, Mayday

Mayday, Mayday

A Poem by Malmalo

I remember that day so well

When everything came tumbling down into a well

Sunk so deep where only the devil can lay

I remember the screams and wails

The sirens I could hear so well

The pain and agony I felt so strange

I remember the huge blaze

That grazed the pastures around me

And felt like a scorching midday sun

And I remember her final words

Smooth and fine like a sip of gin

Before I felt her breath escape through my sleeves
