Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror

A Poem by Emily Bivens

The way you see yourself
Is different then how others see you.
These mirrors have tricks.

They trick you to see flaws
that no one else sees.
These mirrors are bullies.

The way you feel about how you look
is just the mirror tearing you down.
These mirrors tear you apart until you break.

All people have flaws.
Most people hate the way they look.
Why is that?
Because these mirrors have flaws.

Mirror Mirror on the wall...
you can't show me my true beauty at all.

These mirrors are flawed.
They only show our imperfect appearances.
When the true beauty
Has been inside.

These mirrors have flaws,
for they cannot see the beauty in everything.
We can.

These mirrors have cracks...
