Dying Rebirth

Dying Rebirth

A Poem by Mandi Hidalgo
"

I have a huge love of everything zombie. This is just one of many poems I've written about that subject.

"

Staggering through the dark,
Bound with blindness,
Soothed by the scent of the bleeding,
And dancing to music of life.
Leave your concrete to the night!
A cadaver cavorting through soil,
To abandon this deathbed.
Stiff with an urge to devour life.
Remembering a taste not yet discovered.
This skin kissed by eternity,
Craving things of mortality,
With a heart beating rot.
Decay pumping through veins of undeath.
Creatures moaning in the chill of the air.
Stone cannot restrain the fright.
Frigid with fear
As the kiss of flesh tears you from this world,
Spewing you into a mindless existence.
The blood you once owned
Is now what you long for.
The life you once had
Makes you dizzy with want.
A hunger never satiated,
As you drag forth
Through your new forever,
A decomposing cycle
Of nothingness,
And horrific appetite.

You definitely have a soul of a poet. I wish I could write poetry. But the one thing I've always liked to do was write stories. I enjoyed the poem and will read more.

I'm a small town girl who picked up a pen and paper to scrawl down my feelings in verse when I was 10 years old. Edgar Allan Poe was my reason for ever putting pen to paper. Writing poetry and reading.. more..
